CNW Northern Memories is a proto-lanced HO scale model railroad set in 1953, depicting the area from Antigo to Ashland with fictionalized names. The main line stretches about 275 feet and is fully scenicked. It’s been featured in both Model Railroader and Railroad Model Craftsman magazines. I enjoy scratch building and craftsman wood kits, so the layout boasts many original structures. Operating sessions typically involve 7 to 8 operators plus the occasional guest. Daytime sessions run for 4 hours with a mid-session lunch break featuring Wisconsin favorites like brats and hamburgers, along with time to chat about layouts and the session’s progress. After 30 to 45 minutes, we pick up right where we left off. Evening or afternoon sessions last 3 hours and run straight through without a formal break.
