Mark’s operating scheme is very unique. Rock Harbor resides on a large island too far from the mainland for a bridge connection. To connect to the outside world, all rail traffic must come inbound and outbound by rail barge or float. Fun concept that works well, so much so, that my upcoming layout build will feature an Erie RR barge operation that actually happened on the North Branch of the Chicago River in Chicago.
